Larry Graham w/ Graham Central Station - "Pow"
Sly's personal page
Roaring out of Oakland California in 1967, Sly's integrated band of immediate family members and friends were tearing up the road by the time they played the Grande in March of 1968. The Fugs were the headliners !! For an idea of what their live show was like, watch the Ohio State Fair talent show video clip from that summer. Sly's brother Freddie (guitar) and bassist Larry Graham play their butts off whilst simultaneously  dancing !!  One indication of the level of musicianship in this group, is that Larry Graham is widely considered THE funk bass innovator with his percussive style of "thumping and popping."  With the slow disintegration of the group in the early seventies, Larry formed Graham Central Station. View the "Pow"  video linked here for a demonstration of Larry's talent.
